Places Golf Has Taken Me

Photo with President George W. Bush on a windy day at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, TX. The president was watching me hit balls from the other end of the range, and yelled over: “Do they teach you to hit it like that over in Finland, son?”

I answered politely: “No, Mr. President, I’m from Norway!”

President Bush: “Ahh, same thing…”

A picture with Rory McIlroy from Egypt in 2010. We played in the same tournament, the Egyptian Open. The picture is from the pro-Am, where I went out to watch Rory play to see if I could learn some new tricks. My second round of the tournament, 74, was good enough to tie Rory on that day.

Picture is from Augusta #12, the famous par 3 that is part of the “Amen Corner.” The picture is from the Monday practice round of 2012 Masters where we were spectators. Next time I come back to Augusta, hopefully I’ll be on the inside of the ropes!

How I started playing golf back in Norway.

My first tournament for the Norwegian Golf Team. Canada in 2009.

The Baylor Golf Team in the Tokyo SkyTree. We got to spend a day in Tokyo after competing in the Topy Cup in September of 2012. There were 4 American Schools and 10 Japanese schools competing at the event. I finished in a tie for 7th individually as best “American.”

Hawaii 2012 with Assistant Coach Ryan Blagg and teammate Filippo Zucchetti.

Photo from my first ever college tournament at Turning Stone, New York. My debut as a Baylor Bear was good, finishing in a tie for fifth, and contributing to the team victory.

Here’s a video of me playing the “Extreme 19th” in South Africa. We were on a training camp with the Norwegian Golf team. You have to take a helicopter to the top of a cliff, and smash a drive off the cliff towards an Africa-shaped green. Unreal experience!
